KARNATIC MUSIC COMPETITION

Competition – Rules & Regulations

There will be three age groups:         (1)  8 yrs to 12 yrs.

                                                             (2) 13 yrs. to 17 yrs.

                                                             (3) 18 yrs & above                                                    

Each participant must sing

Group I:

                                    One Varna in Adi Taala (IInd Speed is must)

One Dasara Pada ( Purandara Dasa & other Kannada Haridasas)

Competition Date & Time: 23^rd August 2015 at 10.00 a.m.

Duration: 10 Minutes

Group II:

One Atta Taala Varna

One Kruti of any Composers.

Competition Date & Time: 23^rd August 2015 at 12.00 noon

Duration: 15 minutes

Group III:

Raga Nerval Swara

One Kruti of any Composers and one  Dasara Padagalu (Purandaradasa , Kanakadasa, Vijayadasa, etc.  in Kannada only)

Duration: 15 Minutes

Competition Date & Time: 23^rd August 2015 at 3.00 p.m.

Prizes in each group:

1^st Prize                                  -           Rs. 2,000/-

2^nd Prize                                 -           Rs. 1,500/-

3^rd Prize                                  -           Rs. 1,000/-

1 Consolation Prize              -           Rs. 500/-

Judges decision is final. Judges can stop a participant at any time during the rendering.  The prize-winners will have to perform during the Ganapati Festival at Mysore Association. If entries in any group are less than 5, there will be no competition in that group.

Entry Fee: Rs. 100/-

Entries have to be submitted at least 2 days before the competition day. No entries will be accepted on the same day.

Application Form
