1st Mysore Association Short Film Competition

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. DESCRIPTION

These rules and regulations (“Rules”) apply to the 1st Mysore Association Short Films Competition 2018 (“Competition”) that is organized by "The Mysore Association, Bombay" (“Association”), a Public Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, having its office at 393, Bhaudaji Road, Matunga, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400019. By entering and participating in the Contest, the participants agree to be bound by these Rules.

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY

2.1 The filmmaker desirous of participating in the Competition (“Participant”) should be a citizen of India.

2.2 The Participant shall participate in the Competition by submitting the registration form as per Rule 4.

2.3 Participants should be 18 years and above

the Participants are required to send their entries in DVD or in Pendrive to

2.4 All content used in the short film, including story, write-up, script, depiction, music, graphics, photographs, images, screenplay, sound records, lyrics, background scores, dialogues, titles, subtitles and all other literary, dramatic, musical and artistic work or any other copyright material therein, should be original and belonging to the Participant or licensed to Participant under a valid license.

2.5 The Participant should have obtained all necessary licenses, permissions, certifications and authorisations, and has complied with all applicable laws necessary for participating in the Contest.

2.6 Each Participant shall be eligible to send one or more entries in each language

2.7 Association reserves the right to disqualify any person that it knows is, or has reasonable grounds to believe is, ineligible for the Competition.

 

3. THE SHORT FILM

3.1 There is no particular theme for the competition but all the entries submitted by the Participants shall have a "Social Message" in it. Entries failing to meet this clause shall be disqualified directly from the contest.
3.2 The language for the short-film will be Kannada, English or  Hindi. The Short Film should carry English subtitles.
3.3 Last date for submission  of entries is 30th November 2018.
3.4 The Participant shall download the opening slide from http://www.mysoreassociation.in/sfc/event and insert it at the beginning of the short film before submission of the short film. Short films which do not contain this opening slide shall not be considered for the Competition.
3.5 The short film should not exceed 20 minutes in duration, including titles, credits and opening slide to be inserted.
3.6 Participants may note that the titles and credits displayed do not last for more than 60 seconds.
3.7 The file format of the short film shall be in MP4 format only. Any short film submitted which is in any other format shall not be considered.
3.8 Short Films will be submitted in DVD / Pen drive only in the format mentioned in Rule 3.6, along with contact Details and the Unique code given to the participants.
3.9 In case a Participant submits multiple entries, each entry shall be submitted separately. Multiple entries submitted together shall not be considered for the competition.
3.10 Participants shall not upload the film on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or any other platform of social media for likes. In any event if the Association/ organizers find out the entries will be disqualified
3.11 Participants should mention the title and Language of the film on the DVD /Pen drive before submitting it.
3.12 Participants are required to submit their entries to the competition in triplicate i.e. either 3 DVD or in 3 Pendrive
3.13 Film should be submitted on or before the deadline. The Association shall not responsible for any delay in receipt of the entries, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries.
3.14 DVD/Pen drive submitted by the Participants will be considered as final and no changes or modifications will be entertained after submission. It is the sole responsibility of the Participant to submit DVD or Pen drive without any physical / quality defects.

4. REGISTRATION

4.1 The Participants are required to fill in Google form and fill-in the details of payment of Registration fees.  

4.2 Participants are required to submit online entry form on or before 30th October 2018 on https://goo.gl/forms/7huusWe30LikNc3y1

4.3 Participants are required to pay a registration fees of          Rs. 1000/- . Participants are required to make the payment through NEFT only. No other mode of payment of Registration fees is accepted by the Association.  

4.4 Participants wish to make payment through NEFT or RTGS then the same can be made to the following:

5. UNIQUE NUMBER

5.1 All the Registered Participants of the contest will be given Unique Code by the Association.

5.2 Association shall communicate the Unique Code to the Participants through E-mail on the receipt of the Registration form.

5.3 Participants are required to quote the unique code in all communication with the Association.

5.4 Participants shall write their Unique code on the CD or on the PEN Drive in which they are submitting their entries.

    

6. Prizes

6.1 The following prize will be given to the participants under common to all entries:

6.2 All the Participating teams will be given a Certificate in the name of their team for Participation.

6.3 Results of the competition will be declared on 31st January 2019

7. LEGAL IMPLICATIONS

7.1 Films that are submitted by the Participants must be their original work and shall not in any way infringe on any IPR right and/or any other rights of any third parties.

7.2 The Participants agree that in case they have used any of the copyrighted music, sound and/or images they have obtained written consent/ permissions from them to use the same in their Film. By Participating in the Competition, the Participants agrees that the Association will not be held liable for any IPR infringements perpetrated by the Participants in their short film submitted for consideration in the competition.

7.3 The Association retains all ownership and copyright of the Films submitted by the Participants till the results of competition is declared.

7.4 The Filmmaker/Producer does not have right to use the name “Association” its official Logos, Laurels without prior permission of Association.
 

8. MISCELLANEOUS RULES

8.1 All decisions of the Association shall be final and binding on all the participants

8.2 In case of any ambiguity in the rules and its interpretation, then the decision and interpretation of the Association shall be final.

8.3 Furnishing any false information or concealment of any material facts in the application form will result in immediate disqualification of the Participant.

8.4 Association reserves right to modify, alter the aforesaid rules and regulations at any time.
